DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is growing
our Emergency Surgery Team!

We are looking for Small Animal Surgeons with primary interests in
emergency surgery to expand our well-established surgery team.
Whether you are a seasoned surgeon looking to advance your career
somewhere new, or just finishing residency, we can set you up for
success at DoveLewis!
We offer an established team, existing caseload, and support from
our dedicated Outreach Coordinators who will help you build
relationships with the referring veterinary community. You and your
patients will also have access to our incredible ER and ICU
including 7 day/week Criticalist coverage and 5 Veterinary
Technician Specialists.
As one of our next board-certified Small Animal Surgeons you will
have the opportunity to help drive the direction and growth of the
department, as well as influence our equipment investments as we
double the size of our state-of-the-art hospital to include 3
additional surgery suites for appointment-based services (leaving 3
suites exclusively available for emergency needs)!

What to Expect at DoveLewis
As an Emergency Surgeon joining the team at DoveLewis you will work
alongside our seasoned surgery team to enhance our offerings for
the community. You will receive a diverse caseload from our 24/7
Emergency Service, referrals from the surrounding veterinary
community and internal referrals from our rapidly growing list of
AAHA accredited specialty services including ICU, Cardiology,
Radiology, Neurology, and Internal Medicine. You will also have the
opportunity to help train the next generation of emergency
veterinarians. DoveLewis is a teaching hospital offering a
well-established Rotating Internship, a recently introduced ER DVM
Mentorship program, and a new ECC Residency starting in 2025.
Enjoy top-of-the-line equipment, access to our in-house Blood
Blank, and perform procedures in state-of-the-art surgical suites
with amazingly skilled support staff including multiple Veterinary
Technician Specialists.

Support from 200+ teammates
50+ Technicians and Experienced Veterinary Assistants (70% licensed
technicians) and many more support staff of various levels
5+ Veterinary Technician Specialists in ECC and
Anesthesia/Analgesia

Internal Blood Bank (with 7+ type B cat donors!)

What Are We Looking For?
Whether you're early on in your career or you're a seasoned Surgeon
looking to advance yourself somewhere new, we want to connect! You
will need:
A Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an
AVMA-accredited school of veterinary medicine or certification
through ECFVG
The ability to be licensed in the state of Oregon
To be currently DACVS (small animal) board-certified or surgery
residency trained
An understanding of and passion for a client centered practice
A desire to focus on emergency surgery
Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training
may be considered as substitution for the above.
