LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE

CREW LEADER

On a daily basis you are responsible for the direction of crew activities on job site, according to pre-established schedules, standards and procedures to provide a high quality of service, as directed by Area Manager.

Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
--- Understand and execute job specifications for each site
--- Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure compliance
--- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: mowing, edging, blowing, bed grooming, pruning, fertilizing, and leaf pick-up
--- Routinely monitor sites for quality and follow up with crews on performance improvements. Communicate continuing concerns to the Area Manager
--- Conduct and oversee execution of work orders and minor Enhancement Projects performed at the crew level
--- Complete daily paperwork timely and accurately
--- Assess equipment operation issues and effectively communicate repair needs to shop personnel
--- Supervise safe loading and unloading of equipment
--- Assist Area Manager with initial and ongoing training of crews
--- Assess the skill level and work behavior of employees and provide recommendations to the Area Manager regarding professional development, performance evaluation, and promotional opportunities
--- Ensure adherence to company policies
--- Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with Area Manager, peers, and subordinates
--- Encourage and maintain safe working conditions by promoting the Company's "Culture of Safety", including but not limited to reinforcing bi-weekly safety tailgate meetings and ensuring proper personal protective equipment usage

Qualifications:
Education
--- At least 3-5 years of related work experience

Language Skills
--- Ability to communicate in English
--- Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus but not required

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
--- Valid Driver's License in the state where employed
--- Commercial Pesticide Applicators License preferred. Study materials and training provided.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
--- Ability to safely operate commercial landscape equipment and tools
--- Demonstrate proper pruning techniques while taking into account the plant material and season
--- Understand fertilization basics for both turf and plants
--- Working knowledge of herbicide applications and relevant practices
--- Have a general understanding of annual installation and maintenance
--- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them under tight deadlines
--- Ability to motivate and lead subordinates
--- Strong commitment to high-quality work and customer service
--- Ability to read and understand maps for navigation and job planning
--- Basic understanding of smartphone apps related to work requirements (e.g. work order entry, time entry, communication with Area Manager)
